The e-Business Executive will:

•    Oversee all e-business activities, ranging from website development to branding to marketing and online sales.

•    At least 3 years working experience in digital environment and preferably in e-commerce environment.

We have a vacancy for an experienced and motivated Java / Web Developer to lead our development team in an enjoyable, challenging and creative working environment. The team is responsible for the whole lifecycle of our content provision to all platforms. In close collaboration with project managers, designers and the team you will analyze, specify, design, code, test, debug, document and maintain internet-based applications and make recommendations on emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • University Degree in Computer Science or other relevant field     
  • At least 5 years (post-degree) of working experience in the field

In particular we are looking for the following:

  • Java: Proven record in development and operation of Java technologies and frameworks including Java JEE, Spring Framework, JPA, JSP / JSTL,

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF DAY-LONG EVENT FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE 1ST YEAR OF HUFFINGTON POST GREECE

On Thursday 10 December, Huffington Post Greece celebrated the completion of its first year of operatio with a day-long, multi-thematic event entitled HuffPost Greece #1, which was held at The Hub Events.

More than 150 attendees at each workshop got the opportunity to listen to discussions on politics, education, startups, society and tourism. The workshops constituted open discussions between different leaders from the corresponding sectors, the public and the bloggers of Huffington Post Greece. Workshop moderators were, Pavlos Tsimas, Editor at large, Nikos Agouros, Editor in chief, Fotis Nakos Chief Editor, Athina Papakosta, Chief Editor and Despoina Trivoli, Chief Editor, Life & Culture of HuffPost Greece
The workshops event was broadcast through live streaming in LiveBlog format.

Meanwhile, a number of events also took place, such as the photography exhibition featuring the most significant news as they were presented through the headlines of HuffPost Greece, as well as the screening of the video project “Greeks Gone West” which narrates the role played by the Greek diaspora in the working culture of the United States.

Arianna Huffington sent her best wishes for the first year of operation of HuffPost Greece, via video.

Politics Workshop

The first workshop was entitled “Politics – How politics and public administration can reverse the brain drain”. Speakers were Christoforos Vernadakis  Alternate Minister of Interior and Administrative Reform, Charis Theocharis Member of the Hellenic Parliament  (Athens B) and Parliamentary Representative of the political party TO POTAMI and Niki Kerameus Member of the Hellenic Parliament (State Constituency), responsible for the Administrative Reform and E-Government Sector of the New Democracy Party. Education Workshop
The next workshop was entitled “Education – How Greek education can coordinate with the future and the new digital reality”. The speakers were Dimitris Andreou, Vice President of Deree, Michalis Meimaris, Professor and Head of the Laboratory of New Technologies in Education, Communication and Media, in the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the University of Athens and Eleni Papadimitriou, Corporate Communications Manager at Procter & Gamble.

Startup Workshop 
The event continued with the workshop entitled “Startup Entrepreneurship – How can a Greek Startup manage to  succeed?” Through their own success stories, the speakers talked about the ways in which the Greek ecosystem of Startups is developing as well as about greater future challenges. The speakers were Roxane Koutsolouka founder of the JoinCargo platform, Andreas Konstantinou, founder and CEO of VisionMobile and Giorgos Tziralis, co-founder of OpenFund.


Solidarity Workshop
Fourth in line was the workshop entitled “Solidarity – Is solidarity unlimited in a crisis? What have we learnt from the experience of the economic and refugee crisis in Greece and how will we respond to new challenges?” The speakers who broached the issue were Alexandros Theodoridis founding member of “Mporoume”. Laura Pappas, founding member and President of the Organization “METAdrasi” and Anggeliki Patroumpa, Public Affairs & Communication Director for Coca-Cola 3E.

Tourism & Development Workshop
The day was concluded with the workshop entitled “Tourism & Development – How we can invest in alternative tourism and what we need to know for proper branding”. The speakers were Elena Koundoura, Alternate Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism, the chef and renowned ambassador of Greek gastronomy Diane Kochilas, who spoke about gastronomic tourism, and Nikos Polias, the marathon runner with numerous victories, who spoke about athletic tourism (read more here).

The celebration was concluded with a cocktail party, during which the HuffPost Greece team blew out its first candle, together with partners and 24MEDIA executives, friends, as well as representatives from politics, business and advertising.

The food that was left over from the event was given to “MPOROUME”, so as to feed people in need. 

By means of the ΗuffPost Greece #1 event, there commences an annual offline forum whose purpose it shall be to promote all issues concerning the society of citizens and to highlight them through public discussion.

The biggest Digital Media network in Greece, presents its new visual identity, the flower.

The renewed logo does not only constitute the company’s commercial trademark but, having been transformed into a symbol, it incorporates the entire philosophy of the company.

SPORTKIT.GR: "AN AWARD, A NEW BEGINNING."

SportKit.gr, is 24MEDIA’s first e-marketplace which won its first award a few months after being introduced to the public.

The site features both original and commercial content, whilst at the same time providing an innovative digital service which allows users to select sports products and more, from the biggest Greek and foreign e-shops, in a user-friendly way, in both desktop and mobile environments.

The above features, in combination with the diversification and innovation of SportKit.gr, were recognized by the judging committee of the Lighthouse E-volution Awards 2016, which awarded the site with the silver award in the Affiliate Site category.

For the development of SportKit.gr 24MEDIA collaborated with Protean Technologies, a company  involved in the IT sector and whose main object is the design and development of software for e-business and e-commerce applications, providing integrated solutions and value-added services.

SPORT 24 RADIO 103.3: THE STATION LISTENERS CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF!

The new program of station SPORT24 Radio 103.3 has just completed 2 months on air and listeners can’t seem to get enough of it! They spend more than 2 hours every day listening to SPORT24 Radio 103.3, to their favorite producers and experienced sports reporters and are always the first to learn of new sporting developments and can listen to live broadcasts of the greatest sporting events.

More specifically, from 19th October to 15th November average listening time for SPORT24 Radio reached 143.1 minutes putting the station in the top spot for average listening time, out of all radio stations in Attica.

The 24MEDIA and SportKit team is growing, evolving and expanding its Affiliate Content sector.

The Editor we are looking for must have at least one year’s worth of work experience in a digital environment and preferably hold a journalism or some other relevant degree.

SportKit is a pioneering aggregator which accumulates and presents sports products in cooperation with top Greek and international e-shops. The Sport Kit environment features original sports-related texts and topics, whilst the rest of the 24MEDIA network features a flurry of activity around affiliate content on all of its sites (Sport24, Contra, ONEMAN, Ladylike and News247).

The top digital group wishes to enhance its fully experienced newsroom with an affiliate content editor, who will be responsible for content production and management for Sport Kit and will be in direct contact with 24MEDIA affiliate content.

Requirements

  •  Knowledge of the product-related logic behind the texts and adaptability to new platforms for the production of product-related articles of an affiliate nature, both for Sport Kit and for 24MEDIA sites,
  • A least one year of work experience in a digital environment

Five and a half years after its first day of operation, Olapaok.gr continues to be renewed with the sole purpose of offering fuller content concerning PAOK in football and basketball as well as other sports depending on current sporting news.

The popular destination for PAOK fans is being re-defined and evolved into a contemporary news aggregator, hosting on a daily basis the most important news and issues concerning PAOK and all its different divisions. Be responsible for pixel-perfect visual appearance and design style of our projects

To qualify you must have:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving the design process of projects across multiple platforms.

24MEDIA RENEWS ITS APPOINTMENT WITH THE EDUCATION SECTOR FOR DECEMBER & NOVEMBER

For a 2nd consecutive year, the Business Centre of Athens (BCA) και η 24MEDIA are to plan and implement a two-month diploma on the subject of Digital Marketing which commences on the 13th November.

The purpose of the diploma in question is to provide specialised and targeted knowledge to all interested persons (marketing executives, students etc.) so that they are able to keep up with the particularly fast-paced changes in the sector and so that they may identify and take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves in the society of information and technology.

The program’s contributors include 24MEDIA chief executives with years of experience in digital marketing and strong backgrounds in the subject, who will share with participants their knowledge but also their personal experience on both a theoretical and a practical level.
