One of the most important and beloved Greek journalists, Vassilis Skountis, joins the team of the leading sports site, Sport24.gr in the context of the ongoing reinforcement strategy of its team.

His characteristic voice has been associated with some of the most important moments of Greek sports, and his articles have written their own history. Biography 

Vassilis Skountis started his career in 1979 and has worked in a variety of media, from newspapers, TV and radio stations and news sites. From 2000 to 2004 he was the director of the Olympic Information Service at the Athens Olympic Games and the 2004 Paralympic Games, having under his supervision 600 journalists, sports experts and volunteers.

From 2006 to 2009 he was the Second Vice President of the Panhellenic Sports Journalists Association (PSAT), while in 2011 he was in charge of the Information Sector at the Pan-Arab Games in Doha, Qatar.

Vassilis Skountis is the only European journalist who has covered all the Final Four of the Euroleague of basketball (since 1988), while he has covered six Olympic Games, eight World Basketball Championships, 15 European Basketball Championships and many more.

Among other things, he has taught in many departments of Journalism and Sports Journalism, while he is a member of ESIEA, PSAT and the International Journalists' Associations UEPS and AIPS.

In 1999 and 2015 he was awarded by the Panhellenic Sports Journalists Association (PSAT) for the "best reportage of the year", while he has received honorary distinctions from the “Athanassios Botsis” Foundation for the Promotion of Journalism as well as from several Greek and international organizations.
