LONDON and ATHENS, January 15th, 2013
The National Basketball Association (NBA) and 24 MEDIA, the largest digital media network in Greece, today announced an extension of their partnership to serve as the host of NBA.com/Greece, the official online destination for NBA fans in Greece.
NBA.com/Greece, hosted within Sport24.gr, allows fans in Greece to follow the NBA in their language, offering access to multimedia content, extensive editorials, real-time in-depth statistics, as well as all the news from top NBA journalists in Greece. Launched in 2011, the NBA.com/Greece editorial team includes editor in chief Stefanos Triantafyllos, Tasos Magoulas, Vangelis Arnaoutoglou, and Nick Papaioannou.
“We believe this will be the best season for NBA.com/Greece and are looking forward to providing NBA fans with a truly unique experience,” stated Stavros Drakoularakos, Managing Director of 24MEDIA.
“We are committed to providing NBA fans around the world with content and experiences that resonate on a local level, and our partnership with 24MEDIA allows us to continue doing that in Greece,” said Dan Markham, Vice President, Media Distribution and Emerging Markets. “Through NBA.com/Greece, fans in Greece will be able to keep up-to-date with all of the latest news from around the league in a way that has an authentic local flavor.”
As part of the NBA’s leading global presence on social media, fans in Greece can also follow the NBA through the official Facebook page, NBA Hellas, with updates provided by NBA.com/Greece basketball writers.
NBA.com/Greece is one of the NBA’s 15 international Web destinations. The league was the first professional sports league in the U.S. to offer specific international Web destinations for fans with the launch of NBA.com/Japan in 1999. Overall, more than half of all visits to NBA.com come from fans outside of the U.S.
